Q: What is organic?
A: The definition of Organic agriculture as approved by the USDA states: "Organic agriculture is an ecological production management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity. It is based on minimal use of off-farm inputs and on management practices that restore, maintain and enhance ecological harmony."
Q: Are all of your products certified?
A: Yes! We are certified by Quality Assurance International, and the USDA. We can provide you a certification document upon request.
Q: What do you do to assure your products are of the highest quality and free of contamination?
A: After inspecting products and facilities of individual suppliers worldwide, we choose the best and take them through a comprehensive, repeatable, quality control program. Before any ingredient becomes a part of our inventory, it must first pass stringent scientific tests.
Q: Is there a difference between organic and non-organic products regarding flavor, aroma or other properties?
A: Compared to conventionally grown products, high quality organic ingredients are cultivated in a more intensive way in order to produce superior taste, aroma, color, and texture. Organic spices tend to have higher levels of steam-volatile oils, and are fresher because of the way they are grown and processed. That is why we work with you to maximize the value of these superior products.
Q: Are organic products much more expensive than non organic?
A: As a source, Aromatica's worldwide expertise in working directly with growers has assured our customers very competitive prices for our products. High quality organic herbs and spice may allow you to specify for a lesser amount of ingredients.
Q: Why are the spices all the same price, and you don't give the same amount of product in each can?
A: Weight varies by volume. If you put basil in a can it weighs less than say, ground pepper. The package is the same, but the spices vary by volume.
Q: Do you ship to Canada?
A: Yes, please e-mail us and let us know what you would like to purchase. We will then set something up for you.
