For 2,000 years the Latin word Aromatica has defined the importance of flavor and aroma in food. Because the word Aromatica was society's first attempt to elevate food from survival status to something akin to an art form, we have celebrated this monumental historical occasion by adopting Aromatica as the name for our company. Equally, the name Aromatica Organics reflects our commitment to provide products that resemble the pure unadulterated quality demanded by Roman chefs 2000 years ago. In fact, Roman society was so intent on obtaining the purest ingredients possible to enhance the flavor of their foods they codified recipes into mankind's first cookbook, ARS Magiric. The author was chef Apicius. His cookbook revolutionized the world with 468 recipes with 349 of them using peppercorns from India. The year was 44 AD.
